The painting side quest

I always try to have two levels of "challenge" for my watercolor students at assisted living, since some of them have gotten pretty advanced. It occurs to me that it's kind of like a side quest in a video game. On this day, the challenge was to paint a feather. The extra challenge was to use line and shadow to capture the curvature of that feather. They all did such a great job. One of them was so good, when I was putting the feathers away I grabbed at her painting thinking it was real!!
