Draw or “Die”
Three dice one weird drawing:
This project was a replacement for Inktober 2024. Feeling uninspired by the official prompt list that year, I did some brainstorming on how I might come up with my own prompts. A collection of 6 “story dice” has become a massive bag of over 250, as I have found as much enjoyment collecting them as drawing the prompts.
Originally planning to burn the pile of art when I reached 100, I decided instead to give them away to friends and family who fight to call “dibs” first on social media.
Why the extreme finality? Because this project was about creating art for art’s sake. Not for someone else, not for money, only for the practice and the joy and peace that come from creating. “Art” as a verb instead of a noun, as I often think.
